I am an experienced Information and Communications Technology (ICT) educator and trainer with a strong background in the health sciences and computing. After gaining a postgraduate degree in Computing I realized that I most enjoyed working with people. By taking up a Lecturing position at CQ University I was able to practice professionally in all of the areas I enjoy: teaching, writing, research, administration and community engagement.

During my time at CQ University, I was appointed to the position of Sub-Dean for my campus and also to the position of Program Coordinator for several undergraduate and postgraduate degrees for the then School of Informatics and Communications.

My qualifications include a Master of Business (by research) gained through designing and conducting an Information Systems study investigating the Human Computer Trust Relationship which was later used in a European study to test Air Traffic Controller interactions with new air traffic control systems.

From Science to Safety I am passionate about lifelong learning for myself and others. After leaving the University I gained qualifications in Training and Assessment and Work Health and Safety.

I am experienced in several different areas of legal compliance including Work Health and Safety, Industrial Relations and Vocational Training and Education having been a member of many different Executive, State, and National level committees for various organizations including the University, the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), Standards Australia International IT-014 "e-Health" Technical Committee, and as a Managing Director of an Australian Registered Training Organization.

At various times throughout my career, I has participated in several Professional organizations. I was a Senior member of the Australian Computer Society and a member of the Australian College of Health Informatics, the International Medical Informatics Association and openEHR . I am currently a member of the Institute of Learning Professionals and the National Safety Council of Australia.

I also have many years’ experience in small business having been a partner in several different ventures.
