We are in the process of looking at companies across Australia to roll out Pre-Employment Functional/Fitness Assessments and was wondering if anyone has any policies or procedures they would be willing to share with me.

I have been holding back on this one as I am a bit bias in my views (and was hoping a HR expert would reply) as most pre employment medicals are so generic they do not take into account an individuals ability to carry out the fuctions of the job. They are so impersonal that they preclude a person that would be suitable with a few minor changes to their duties or the way the job is carried out.
If done correctly and based on the individual/ job being assessed they can be a real positive to getting the best person not just one that has passed a medical / hearing test.
Regards Policy & Proceedures they are more a HR / IR matter than OHS but should be consistent with the Companies Return to Work and Fit for Work program as you are trying to get or keep staff and like most policies / programs work after positive consulatation and involvement of the workers.
