    Working safely at heights

When working with a harness, (on a roof or in a cherry picker) is it mandatory that you have a working safely at heights ticket? Or is the employer showing you the correct way to fit a harness deemed sufficient?

Working Safely at Heights ticket is not mandatory under legislation but still is eveidence of training.
The employer and / or Principal Contractor can still require you to have this training as part of the Site Plan / Company standards.
The employer can provide training in fitting a harness but would have to show that their internal training was to a standard that provided you with the competencies required.
At the end of the day any training you undertake must be applicable to the work you are to undertake - the higher the risk the more specific and accountable.
